The GLOW WAlk
Walking through the history of birth and women's health in Edinburgh
07:30 - meet at top of Middle Meadow Walk
Walking through the history of birth and women's health in Edinburgh.
An early-morning walk visiting key historic locations where scientific breakthroughs have, and still are, taking place in the field of Women's and Newborn's health.
This interactive walk explores Edinburgh's legacy in this field - as well as offering an opportunity to shake off any sore heads after the Ceilidh!
On Tuesday morning we will cover about 1 mile of the walk (full route map available here: https://www.omagemi.com/theglowwalk) over mostly flat (although imperfectly pavemented) streets. We will visit some key landmarks and interact with a specially developed audio guide from the creative team at Omagemi. You are invited to join us at the top of Middle Meadow Walk ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/3hLSga4j4ZvEEtop8) at 7.30am, load up with coffee and arrive at McEwan Hall in time for our first keynote speaker with all the cobwebs blown away!

You will need to bring your mobile phone and some headphones/earbuds so you can open the QR codes and listen to writer Francesca Dale's narrated response to each site.
This walk takes approximately one hour in total, distance approx. 1 mile though we will allow 75 minutes for pauses to listen to the narration and a coffee stop! Alternatively, please visit https://www.omagemi.com/ for an online version of the map, and to listen to the narration remotely. |
