Dr Pascale Allotey is an internationally recognised leader in gender equity, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and the advancement of human rights within global health. She currently serves as Director of the World Health Organization’s Department of Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, Child, Adolescent Health and Ageing: Advancing Life Course Health and Reproduction, and leads HRP, the UNDP/UNFPA/UNICEF/WHO/World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction Dr Susan Sparkes
Dr. Susan Sparkes is a health economist in the Health Financing team at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, where her work focuses on health financing policy and health systems reform to support progress toward universal health coverage. She has worked across a range of global health organizations, including the World Bank, The Global Fund, and USAID. |

Dr Mary Kinney Dr Mary Kinney is an academic and activist working in maternal and child health. As a health policy and systems researcher, her work focuses on using evidence, data and partnerships to advance health for all, especially for African women, newborns, and families and health workers. She believes that advancing SRHR and maternal and newborn health requires navigating power through political, behind-the-scenes advocacy and more visible public-facing advocacy, grounded in lived experience and evidence Dr Delan Devakumar
Dr Delan Devakumar is a Professor of Global Child Health in University College London and an honorary public health consultant in Great Ormond Street Hospital. He is Director of the UCL Centre for the Health of Women, Children and Adolescents and the UCL Race & Health research groups. Dr Enny Paixao Dr Enny Paixao began her research training at the Federal University of Bahia, where she completed an MSc in Public Health. Her PhD at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine focused on dengue during pregnancy and sparked a broader interest in how prenatal exposures shape health across the life course. She currently holds a Wellcome Trust Career Development Award supporting research on the long-term effects of prenatal exposure to infectious diseases in children and adolescents. Dr Mairead Black
Dr Mairead Black is a consultant obstetrician in the UK NHS and an active maternity services researcher. She is passionate about improving equity in maternity care, particularly through respectful communication, including supporting informed choices. In her NIHR Maternity Disparities Consortium role, she focuses on how intersectionality, racism and discrimination are addressed across preconception, pregnancy and neonatal research themes. She looks forward to the shared learning opportunities that GLOW presents for improving equity in maternal health across the world
Dr Adam Kucharski
Adam Kucharski is a professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and an award-winning science writer. His academic research makes better use of data to tackle health threats – from running large-scale studies of social behaviour and immunity to advising governments and countering misinformation. He has worked on global outbreaks including Ebola, Zika and COVID and collaborated on research with organisations such as Meta, SpaceX, the BBC and the Premier League. Most recently, he is co-founder of WholeSum, a VC-backed startup developing hybrid statistical-AI methods to extract deeper signals from text data. |
