The UCL Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Institute for Women's Health (EGA IfWH) brings together multidisciplinary clinicians and researchers to improve the health and wellbeing of women, babies, and families worldwide. We believe healthcare should be holistic and that there are continual opportunities across a woman's life course to improve health, from birth and puberty through motherhood, menopause, and later life. Founded in 2004, EGA IfWH is an academic department within the Faculty of Population Health Sciences at University College London (UCL), based in London, UK. Our mission is to advance knowledge, clinical practice, and education across all aspects of women's and babies' health through world-leading research, teaching, and patient engagement. The Institute comprises four academic research departments: Reproductive Health, Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Women's Cancer, and Neonatology. A strong commitment to global health underpins all research activities, ensuring our work addresses health challenges both locally and internationally. We believe impactful research is driven by close collaboration with women, patients, and communities. Alongside our research excellence, we are a leading centre for women's health education, offering innovative undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that combine academic rigour with real-world impact. BMJ Women's Health
BMJ Women's Health is a new, selective open access journal, covering women's health spanning the life course and addressing biological and social factors that impact women's health. The journal welcomes original research which addresses important health conditions for women, with a particular focus on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. We also welcome proposals for reviews and opinion pieces which highlight major developments, innovations, policies and challenges to advancing women's health around the world. The College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare The College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (CoSRH) is the UK’s leading professional membership organisation for sexual and reproductive healthcare (SRH), providing a trusted voice for the multidisciplinary workforce delivering care across this specialist field. CoSRH develops evidence-based clinical guidance and standards, delivers high-quality education and training, and supports healthcare professionals throughout their careers. Neotree’s goal is to end preventable newborn deaths in low-resource settings by improving quality of care. Our award-winning digital health platform empowers frontline healthcare workers with a comprehensive bedside solution that combines Clinical Decision Support (CDS) and in-built training to ensure every baby receives standardised, evidence-based treatment. The real-time data Neotree captures also drives continuous improvement in care - from the clinic floor to national health systems. Working across 19 facilities in Malawi and Zimbabwe—supporting over 60,000 newborns and 4,000+ clinicians—we have observed 20-60% reductions in newborn mortality, including a 50% reduction in deaths among the most vulnerable, low-birthweight babies. We are now embedding our technology directly into national Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in Malawi and Zimbabwe so that it can become a sustainable part of national health infrastructure, driving long-term improvements in quality of care. https://neotree.org/ |
