The 1st Global Women’s (GLOW) Research Society Conference was hosted by Liverpool University with the purpose of bringing together researchers from around the world to share the latest developments in women health care. The conference was attended by 150 people, all of whom work in a huge range of low resource settings. Many representatives were from the USA, Uganda, Switzerland, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, and Sierra Leone.
The conference included four keynote lectures covering the diverse topics of collaborative research networks, safe abortion, community antenatal care and the work of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
There were four sessions throughout the day each with a theme. Each session started with a keynote speaker followed by 3 short presentations.
