A word from the Steering committee
On behalf of the GLOW National Steering Committee, I would like to warmly welcome your participation in the 2024 conference in Edinburgh. After over 10 years of staging this event in England, we are delighted that the venue has shifted to Scotland and to the wonderful capital city, with the University of Edinburgh as the main host. You can be sure of a true Scottish welcome to GLOW 2024.
The local organizing committee, lead by Dr Rosie Townsend, has put together an exciting programme around the theme of “Rising to the challenge” - acknowledging the emerging threats and tests to women’s health and well-being globally. Across the 2-days, you will be able to listen to outstanding keynote speakers, participate in workshops, view and comment on poster presentations, contribute to panel discussions, feast your eyes on a creative arts performance, and take part in a traditional Scottish dance event - the GLOW 2024 ceilidh which follows the conference dinner! And going beyond the venue itself, there will also be a walking tour to local sites of historic importance to women’s health in Edinburgh over the last three centuries. We are confident this conference will offer you much stimulation on pressing topics in women’s health research, great opportunities for networking, and a flavour of Scottish hospitality. We look forward to seeing you there - in-person or online, and would like to take this opportunity to thank Rosie and her team for organising such an exciting programme and memorable GLOW 2024. |
