Instructions for Presenters

Oral Presentations

Oral presentations are scheduled for Monday 23 September 11:30 – 12:15 and Tuesday 24 September 14:30 – 15:30
  • Please refer to the conference programme to determine your presentation date and time. ​​
  • Presentations will be presented in the running order as listed on the programme
  • The session will be chaired. The chair will introduce the session and a brief introduction of each presenter
    • ​​Your presentation should be 5 minutes in duration with 2 minutes allocated for questions
    • We will provide a timekeeper as well as a display countdown timer to ensure you keep to time
    • If you fail to end your presentation in the allotted 5 minutes, the Chair will ask you to stop.
    • Questions will be asked by in-person and on-line attendees via the MedAll platform. 
    • The session Chair will moderate and facilitate the question session
  • We suggest you present a maximum of 5 presentation slides
    • Presentation slides should be set as widescreen format
    • Presentation slides should be sent in advance, by Monday 16 September at 17:00 (GMT +1) to [email protected]
  • Oral presentations will be eligible for the best oral presentation prize. The prize winner will be announced during the closing comments at the end of Day Two.
On the day:
  • For those presenting on Monday, please make yourself known to Laura Marshall, GLOW 2024 Event Manager during the mid-morning coffee break
  • For those presenting on Tuesday, please make yourself known to Laura Marshall, GLOW 2024 Event Manager during the lunch break
Laura will usually be found at the main registration desk. On each day Laura will ensure you have met the session chair, are familiar with the AV set up/checked your slides prior to your presentation and can answer any questions you may have

Poster Presentations

  • You have received an invitation email from MedAll inviting you to upload your poster to the Poster Hall​
  • Your poster must be a .pdf file and should be orientated in portrait and standard A4/A3/A2/A1 dimensions

Please upload by Monday 16 September at 17:00 (GMT+1)

In-person

Day 1
  • ​10:15 AM - poster platform session 1 - Public Health 
  • 3:00 PM - poster platform session 2 - Psychosocial Factors
Day 2​
  • 10:15 AM - poster platform session 3 - Intrapartum Care 
  • 3:00 PM - poster platform session 4 - Maternofoetal Medicine
  • Your poster should be no larger than A1 in size and in portrait orientation
  • You are responsible for printing your own poster. There are no printing facilities at the conference venue
  • When you arrive at the conference you will be notified of your poster board number and directed to the poster hall. The poster hall will be available from 08:30 on Monday 23 September 
  • We will provide Velcro dots to attach your poster to the poster board
As an in-person poster presenter you have been allocated to one of the Poster Platform sessions.
  • These sessions will take place during the four coffee breaks across the two days of the conference​
  • During your poster platform presentation you will have 5 minutes to present to the judging panel. One minute should be your poster presentation followed by four minutes for questions/discussion.
As an in-person poster presenter you will be eligible for the Poster Platform prize. The prize winner will be announced during the closing comments at the end of Day Two.
  • Following the close of the conference you are responsible for removing your poster from the board and taking away with you.
  • Any posters remaining on the poster boards by 17:30 will be removed and destroyed

Online

  • You are not eligible to be included in the Poster Platform session
  • We do however encourage you to be available across the two days of the conference, specifically during the coffee and lunch breaks, to answer any questions conference attendees may have.
